New legislation has been passed to ensure that the public has access to published results of National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research.

The new rules require researchers to submit all peer-reviewed journal articles that arise from NIH funds to PubMed Central (PMC) within twelve months of publication.

The Health Sciences Library has a Web page with links to information about adhering to the new policy. The page includes information on:

  • Coverage dates of the new legislation
  • Manuscript submission information
  • Links to comprehensive guidance and frequently asked questions

For more information about the policy, contact Madelyn Wessel, at the University Library, and Gretchen Arnold, at the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library.
